Perry Alan Lies, 64, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 1st, 2022. He was born December 18th, 1957, in Waterloo, the son of LeRoy Lies, Jr. and Grace (Mohlis) Lindaman. He graduated from La Porte City High School in 1976. He had four children with Patsy (Schmit) Tragord. He loved NASCAR, specifically Dale Earnhardt Sr., the Vikings, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. If he wasn’t watching a football game or a NASCAR race, you could find him outside. He loved fishing, working on his boat, working on vehicles, and relaxing outside with his wife, Cheryl, and his dog child, Jesse. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Nikki (Rick) Jensen; daughter, Heather (Steve) Jensen; daughter, Ashley (Dan) Ginther; son, Anthony (Kaleigh Kibbee) Lies; daughter, Joy (Glen) Smith; son, John Weires; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Tim Lies and Joey (Megan) Lindaman; two brothers in law, Doug (Fran) Stevens and Craig (Tracey) Stevens; three sisters in law, Carol (Dave) McCullough, Wendy (Dave) Herman, and Barb (Wayne) Frost; and a special friend, DeLoy Rainey (Jeff) Colvin. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Per Perry’s request he was cremated and will be buried with his grandparents in La Porte City. There will be a small family graveside service on Monday, June 6th at 1:30pm. Memorials may be directed to the family.
